To be a member of NHS there are a few requirements that must be met. It's important to understand all of aspects of the club so achieving life-time membership will be easy!
Active Members
To be an active member of NHS you must
- Have registered at the beginning of the semester
- Attend 4 meetings a semester
- Turn in a completed hour log at the end of the semester
Hour Logs
To have a completed hour log you must
- Have 20 hours of community service
- 3 must be NHS hours
- The rest can be any kind of hours they want to be, they can be from other clubs*, or your own personal volunteering
*Only HALF of the hours also applied towards CSF and Key Club may be used
Registration
You must re-register every semester to remain a member
- Happens beginning of semester
- In front of S-12 at lunch
- GPA of 3.4 is required
- Must bring most recent grade report or transcript and $5
Life-Time Members
To be a life-time member of NHS you must
- Have been an active member of NHS for at least 4 semesters
*Life-Time members receive a silver chord at graduations
NHS Projects
There are two types of ways to get NHS hours
- Events that are offered throughout the year
- Continual opportunities on our list
Meetings
NHS meetings are important to attend to learn of new events.
- Take place in S-12
- On Mondays at lunch
- Generally every other week
Try and attend as many meetings are you can. 4 are required per semester
